Announcing the candidates for the office of
2018 Oregon's Kid Governor

THE POLLS WILL OPEN ON MONDAY NOVEMBER 6, 2017 AND CLOSE ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 14, 2017

The following 5th graders are the candidates for the 2017 election for Oregon's Kid Governor. The candidates have been nominated by the 5th graders in their schools and completed the necessary paperwork qualifying them to run for office.

Each candidate created a campaign video (below) outlining why he or she wants to be Oregon's Kid Governor, what leadership qualities he/she has, what community issue is important to him or her and why, and a three-point plan outlining ways for Oregon 5th graders to make a difference around that issue.

Fifth grade students in registered classrooms should watch these videos carefully and use the Analyzing Campaign Videos and Speeches worksheet to study the candidates’ platforms to inform their vote during Statewide Election. The Statewide Election is Nov. 6-14, 2017. Each registered 5th-grade student is entitled to one vote. All votes are due by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, November 14, 2017.

Classrooms may use the official Oregon's Kid Governor Statewide Election Ballot, however the original ballots do not need to be returned to Oregon's Kid Governor.
