Hi, my name is Saanvi and I am a cabinet member for the 2025 Oregon Kid Governor program. I’m happy to write my seventh blog.
To continue connecting with people, I decided to try something different than connecting with businesses. As November was a National Homeless Awareness month, I decided to give another push to my supply drive. Hence, I connected with my local speech and debate club. I introduced the group about my platform and my work so far with the local homeless youth organization. I requested all to possibly bring the basic dental and hygiene supplies in the next session and when I collected, I was very happy and thankful to see all the donations and that a bunch of kids my age actually wanted to support my cause. It was a heavy bin to carry.
After we got the supplies, we went to our local Homeless youth shelter (Homeplate) to donate the supplies and they were very appreciative of it.
